Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a Point Cook school.
Firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire at Featherbrook P-9 College on Boardwalk Boulevard about 8.15pm on Wednesday, July 10.
Fire Rescue Victoria and CFA crews arrived to find flames and smoke coming from a number of buildings at the school and required breathing apparatus to fight the blaze and bring it under control.
No one was injured, but multiple portable classrooms were damaged and a community warning was issued for smoke in the area.
The fire was deemed suspicious and a crime scene was established by police.
An arson chemist is expected to attend the scene today.
Featherbrook P-9 College is currently closed due to school holidays, but students are set return for the beginning of term three on Monday, July 15.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education said all classes would run as scheduled, but some would be temporarily relocated from fire damaged rooms.
Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au
