Following on from its successful implementation last season, Western United has announced kids will be admitted free-of-charge to all matches in the 2021/22 A-League Men season.
Tickets are now available to see the Green and Black in battle for round one on Saturday, November 20.
Western United said in a statement that it recognises the importance of its young fans, the next generation of football supporters who are joining the journey in the west.
Kids under 12 will be eligible for a free ticket in the general admission category at every home game this season, while family packages in category A and category B will amount only to the cost of two adult tickets.
Western United chief executive Chris Pehlivanis said the support from the club’s young fans was crucial in the present, and would continue to be in the future.
“We are a family club. We want kids to feel welcome at our games and we want them to have fun and feel a part of our family, our community,” he said.
“I am so proud of the club for running this initiative.
“Our young fans are the future of our club and will be the future of football in the country as a whole.
“Providing a positive experience for families and kids is of great importance to us, and I am really looking forward to seeing the kids of the west wearing the green and black colours on match day this season.”
Tickets for round one are on sale now, with the Battle of the Bridge set to return as Melbourne Victory cross into Western United territory.
John Aloisi will lead his charges into a competitive match for the first time, with Leo Lacroix, Alessandro Diamanti and company set to light up GMHBA Stadium, marking the club’s first game in Geelong since January.
Live sport returns to Melbourne to kick off the summer, with a particularly special return for the region of Geelong with its first sporting event in months, and Western United needs its fans in full voice to spur the team on.
As it stands, the round one clash will take place with 25 per cent capacity fulfilled in the stadium.
Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is required to enter the arena, and each ticketholder must remain within their designated zone for the entirety of the match.
