It was a case of twin trouble when police stopped a car in Werribee’s Watton Street on September 12.
When police spoke to two men inside the vehicle, one of the men allegedly provided the officers with
a false name, that of his twin brother.
But his sibling was wanted on an outstanding warrant, so the man was arrested.
After he was taken to the Werribee police station, the man’s real identity was uncovered.
A member of the Wyndham Community Safety Team recognised the man, who was subsequently charged with 10 counts of theft and 10 counts of committing an indictable offence in relation to a series of alleged thefts at liquor stores.
The man was also charged with stating a false name.
The man faced the Sunshine Magistrate’s Court the next day and was granted bail.
Two hours after his release, he was allegedly seen in Rosella Avenue, Werribee, breaching one of his bail conditions.
The man was arrested and was presented to the Sunshine Magistrate’s Court on September 14. He was remanded in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on October 18.
