A $45 million town centre featuring a supermarket, cafes and restaurants will be constructed within The Grove, Tarneit.

Frasers Property Australia sold the site of the estate’s future town centre, including two lots totalling three hectares, to Empire Properties earlier this month.

The estimated cost of the town centre, including land acquisition, is $45 million.

Frasers Property Australia general manager development Victoria, Sarah Bloom, said that the company would work with Empire Properties to design the town centre.

“This important deal ensures that planning work commences immediately, with construction of The Grove town centre to commence within 12 months of the plans being endorsed,” Ms Bloom said.

Empire Properties managing director Tony Masa said that planning was under way for construction of the centre, with a projected completion date of mid-to-late 2024.

“The new 5200 square metre centre will service a catchment of around 15,000 people in one of Australia’s fastest growing regions, so it was an exciting project for Empire Properties to secure and equally so to develop,” Mr Masa said.

The Grove will eventually become home to 8000 residents. The community is already well-established with more than 1200 land lots sold.
