The preps at Good News Lutheran College celebrated the beginning of the Easter break by crafting little baskets.
While the pupils were taught about the significance of Easter, head of the junior years Maria Denholm said it was important to let the kids enjoy some other traditions as well.
“We’re a Lutheran, Christian school so our Easter emphasis is always about the death and resurrection of Jesus, but we also understand that we live in a secular world where for many people, it’s about rabbits and chocolates,” Ms Denholm said.
Ms Denholm said the pupils were given instructions, but added their own personal touches.
“They did some cutting because they’re practicing their skills, and colour and taping together, so lot’s of good fine motor skills. They used their creativity to add their decorations,” she said.
“They’ve worked really hard this term, they’ve done so much learning, it’s a lovely opportunity for them to do something that’s a bit fun.”
