Get set to chuckle, cackle and chortle your way through the Wyndham Theatre Company’s latest production, a trio of one-act plays under the title Drop Dead Funny.
The show’s production manager Elle Parkinson said when the company decided to stage Drop Dead Funny, they did so with the aim of getting new directors and performers involved.
“Putting the show together has been great, because the plays are all so diverse it really means that the performance has something for everyone,” she said.
“We have a lot of new members and it has been really great to see them develop their skills through rehearsals.”
The three plays to be staged during Drop Dead Funny are Fate’s Thread by Stephen Bean, Death and His Brother Sleep by Wayne Dudgeon and Albert by Richard Harris.
Cast member Kelly MacDonald Neilsen said the rehearsals were always funny to watch.
“Watching the characters come to life has been hilarious, it helps too when the cast and crew are very talented and wonderful people,” she said.
Parkinson said the theatre company was keen to get more residents involved in its productions next year.
Wyndham Theatre Company will be announcing its 2019 season soon, with plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Drop Dead Funny will be staged at the Crossroads Theatre, corner Synnot Street and Duncans Road, Werribee at 7.30pm on Friday, October 12 and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, October 13.
