Driver stalks woman in Point Cook

A woman was left shaken after being stalked and verbally abused by a man in a car in Point Cook on Saturday morning.

The 34-year-old Point Cook woman was walking along Jamieson Way about 9.30am when she noticed an older model grey Ford station wagon parked on the side of the road.

As she walked along the street, the male driver started following her slowly in his car.

A few minutes later he turned into a driveway ahead of her and told her to get in the car.

The woman walked around the car and kept going and the man has continued to follow her in the vehicle, yelling out aggressively.

She spotted a couple walking their dog ahead and ran to them.

The couple them escorted the woman home and she contacted police.

The man is described as probably being African in appearance, aged between 30-40 years old with a gaunt face.

At the time he was wearing a bright blue jacket and was the only occupant of the car.

Police are looking at whether there are any links between this incident and a recent stalking incident in Reservoir.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
