A 30-year-old Wyndham Vale man has died after being impaled by a star picket in a car accident on his own property last week.
Acting Senior Sergeant Aaron Prentice-Evans, of the Westgate highway patrol, said the man had been driving an unregistered car around his Ballan Road rural property when he drove over some fencing wire and a star picket about 2.15pm last Tuesday, January 5.
Ambulance and police were called to the property.
The man died at the scene.
There were no passengers in the vehicle.
The coroner is preparing a report on the incident.
