Dog park feedback open

Wyndham council is calling for feedback on a proposal to create a new dog off-leash park in Point Cook.

The new dog off-leash park is proposed for Citybay Drive Drainage Reserve, at the corner of Edge View and Waves Drive.

The proposed fenced off-leash area will include a large fenced lawn area with double gates, new trees, landscaping and a seating area.

To cater for dogs, a drinking fountain with a dog bowl and bottle tap, agility equipment, doggie bag dispensers and bins have been included in the proposed design.

Cr Susan McIntyre said the location was earmarked due to its proximity to the popular Crocodile Splash Park.

“We were mindful of creating a welcoming space on the reserve that could be enjoyed by families and also offer a safe, fenced area for pet owners,” she said.

“The design gives us the opportunity to move a small junior park that was installed some 15 years ago and merge it with the play space for older kids.”

“It allowed us to update the equipment for pre-schoolers and create a central play space for families to enjoy with their older and younger children on Citybay Drive Drainage Reserve.”

Drop-in sessions to discuss the proposed dog park will take place at the reserve on Tuesday, October 7 between 3:30 – 6:30pm and on Saturday, October 11 between 10am – 12pm
