DJs spin the tunes for retro night

Two Wyndham DJs are keen to spin some old-school tunes on their home turf.

Paul Davy (DJ Davy) and Eilis Hughes (DJ Oily Shoes) make up West-Side Retro, a duo that plays retro pop and disco classics from the 70s, 80s and 90s around Melbourne.

It occurred to the duo that although there were many retro nights across Melbourne’s inner west, people in Wyndham had to travel outside of the area to get their old-school music fix.

West-Side Retro has teamed up with Cody’s Cafe in Manor Lakes to host a pre-Valentine’s Love in the first degree launch party on February 11.

Mr Davy said the pair hopes to run retro nights across Wyndham every month.

“We really want to give people the space and the opportunity to have a good time, whether that’s a couple of mates catching up for a drink, or a dance.”

Mr Davy said 70s hit Lady Marmalade by La Belle, 80s track Take On Me by A-Ha, and 90s classis Groove Is In The Heart by Deee-Lite were guaranteed floor fillers.
