Cyclist hit in Altona dies

A cyclist struck by a Point Cook motorist in Altona has died in hospital.

The collision occurred on Sunday, September 11 at about 11.45am.

At the time of the collision, a 57-year-old cyclist from Ascot Vale sustained life-threatening injuries and the male driver, a 48-year-old Point Cook man, stopped at the scene to assist the injured man, before he was taken to hospital.

The cyclist died in hospital on Saturday, September 24.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.
