300 cups raised to kick cancer

More than 300 people enjoyed a cuppa for a cause at the Italian Sports Club in Werribee last week.

The club’s ladies committee hosted its annual Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event, raising $12,000 for the Cancer Council.

Visitors enjoyed morning tea and had fun bidding on auction items.

One of the event organisers, Connie Fugazzotto, thanked all the sponsors for their help in running the event and donating items for auction.

“Without that support, we wouldn’t be able to do it,” she said. “We’re very happy with our fundraising total.”
