Having been as far away from Flemington as New York, the Melbourne Cup spent a little bit of time at Palm Lake Resort in Truganina on Monday October 20. Star Weekly photographer Damjan Janevski captured the excitement and glamour when resort residents gathered to view and hold one of the racing world’s most coveted prizes. One of the most famous trophies in Australia sport, the visit was part of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour. Since 2003, the tour has clocked over a million kilometres, visited more than 600 towns, and helped raise vital funds along the way. This year’s Melbourne Cup will be run on Tuesday 4 November.
