Cuisines of many nations will be on offer at Point Cook’s first-ever food truck festival.
The five-day free festival at the Town Centre starts January 18 and will raise cash for sick children.
Event organiser Danny Grant says the festival is one of 12 across Melbourne pursuing the goal of raising $200,000 in total for the Monash Children’s Hospital.
The first such festival was in Berwick in March this year. “[We] thought it would be awesome to be able to use these crowds to help a worthy cause,” Mr Grant said.
Funds raised from rides, face-painting and parking will go to the hospital. Mr Grant said the event also gave people in outer suburbs a rare chance to enjoy food trucks.
The festival runs from 5-10pm on weeknights, and noon-10pm at the weekend. Cuisines on offer will include Indian, Spanish, Taiwanese, Greek, Italian, Korean and Brazilian.
