A group of Wyndham women is spreading the Christmas cheer while raising cash for charity.
The annual Cancer Crusaders Christmas market night is back on Friday, November 25, with all funds raised going to a clinical trial for brain tumour patients at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Cancer Crusaders secretary Ruth Murray, who hosts the market at her Sanctuary Lakes home, says the items for sale will be modelled on gifts that teachers would traditionally give their students.
“We have candles, jewellery, hampers, aprons, jams and preserves and more,” Ms Murray said.
“We’ll also have plenty of fresh vegetables donated by Werribee South farmers – you don’t get vegetables any fresher than that. They’re picked from the farm that morning.”
Entry to the market is $5, and all funds raised will go directly to the Royal Children’s Hospital trial, which is funded by the Cancer Crusaders.
The entry fee includes a drink and sausage upon arrival.
Raffles will also be held.
Last year’s version of the event raised a whopping $11,000 with more than 250 people attending the market.
The Cancer Crusaders market night is at 20 Pelican Point Drive, Sanctuary Lakes, from 5pm until 8.30pm on November 25.
Everyone is welcome.
