Crafty weekend coming up in Werribee

Despite gearing up for its 43rd edition, this year’s Werribee Craft Festival promises to have plenty of new attractions on offer when it takes place at the Encore Events Centre on November 10 and 11.

“We’ve got over 20 new stalls,” said festival secretary Chris Mitchell of the 2023 event which will feature 80 in total.

Even if that means three-quarters will be festival regulars, Ms Mitchell said not all of them will look the same.

“People always put their own twist on things, so they might be the same stalls as previous years but they’re doing something different.

We try to always make sure we have a variety and not too much of the one thing.”

The festival features all the usual craft fare such as woodwork, pottery, crockery and candles, while also catering for children.

“We’ve got free kids craft activities, a face-painter and roaming characters,” said Ms Mitchell.

And if you’re feeling hungry?

“Our devonshire teas are always a hit,” she said.

The festival is free and Ms Mitchell encouraged patrons to come both on Friday night and all day Saturday.
