Sixteen people have died with or due to COVID-19 in Wyndham between December 2021 and February this year.
The figures released by the Department of Health detailed the number of deaths by Local Government Area (LGA).
“Our heartfelt sympathies go out to all the families and friends who have lost loved ones to COVID-19 over the course of the pandemic,” a department of health spokesperson said.
Wyndham currently has 1255 active cases, and has recorded more than 50,000 cases since the pandemic began.
Mayor Peter Maynard urged struggling residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to contact local council.
“If you or someone you know needs help, contact our community connector team, who can help you find and connect with local service options,” Cr Maynard said.
According to the Department of Health, just over half the eligible population in Wyndham has received booster shots.
People with COVID-19 are 66 per cent less likely to die if they have had two doses of vaccine and are 88 per cent less likely to die if they have had three doses.
Residents can visit the Wyndham council website to find an updated list of places they can get vaccinated.
