Tarneit residents have less than two months to wait until they can check out the suburb’s newest shopping centre.

The 25,000-square-metre Tarneit Central shopping centre is scheduled to open on October 4.

The $70 million development is anchored by Aldi and Coles supermarkets and Kmart and Harris Scarfe stores. It will also include more than 45 specialty stores, including cafes, fresh food and dining, fashion and beauty.

The shopping centre, on the corner of Derrimut and Leakes roads, bounds the established Rose Grange and new Westbrook estates.

Tarneit Central is the vision of Ranfurlie Developments, the retail and commercial arm of Dennis Family Corporation.

Ranfurlie Developments chief executive Mark Wilson said the centre would open in the second week of term three school holidays, with children’s activities being run as part of the opening celebrations.

“[We] are proud and excited to deliver Tarneit Central and all it offers to the local community and look forward to delivering the same to the community of Manor Lakes with a planned development of Manor Lakes Central, currently awaiting approval by Wyndham council,” Mr Wilson said.
