Council to lap up outdoor pool feedback

Swimmers, this one’s for you.

Wyndham council is running a survey to help shape future planning and operation of the Werribee Outdoor Pool. It wants to know how people use the pool, what draws swimmers to it and their preferred opening hours.

Wyndham sports development portfolio holder Peter Maynard said the council was keen to find out what visitors liked about the Werribee Outdoor Pool and any suggested improvements that could be made.

“The survey responses will be used to inform future planning to improve the visitor experience, for example areas such as customer service, facility activation and future capital works,” Cr Maynard said.

“While the changerooms at Werribee Outdoor Pool were redeveloped prior to the start of the 2017-18 season, there are currently no further plans to redevelop the facility.”

Wyndham council last year splashed out $300,000 on major upgrades to the changerooms and irrigation system. The facility also received a lick of paint to complete the new look.

Cr Maynard said there had been more than 54,000 visits to the Werribee Outdoor Pool last season, with the centre on track to pass that tally this season.

The pool, which opens during the warmer months each year, will remain open until March 31.
