Council goes live on the net

It’s official – Wyndham residents can watch council meetings from home.

The council last week streamed its April meeting live, with 84 viewers tuning in. Another 180 viewers have viewed the recording of the meeting on YouTube over the past week.

Mayor Henry Barlow said recordings would be put on the council’s website.

“This will allow all of those residents who find it difficult to attend meetings in person to watch us live … or, for people who have other commitments on Tuesday nights, the recording can be downloaded,” Cr Barlow said, adding that broadcasts should usually be available on the website within 24 hours.

The council previously made audio recordings of meetings, which residents could purchase for $15.
