Coronavirus cases rise in Wyndham

Forty-one cases of the coronavirus have been detected in Wyndham residents, new figures reveal.

This is compared to 36 cases yesterday, according to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Wyndham residents now have the 13th highest number of corona cases among Victoria’s municipalities, with Stonnington topping the list on 90 cases.

Out of the 41 coronavirus cases diagnosed among Wyndham residents, 11 cases have been classified as active.

Active cases are defined as someone who has tested positive, is currently in isolation and being monitored by the DHHS and who has not yet recovered.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Victoria is 1454 – an increase of 14 since yesterday.

The new confirmed cases include 13 diagnosed among workers from a Brooklyn meat processing facility, taking the total number of cases in this cluster to 62.

There are 153 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Victoria that may have been acquired through community transmission.

Currently, eight Victorians are in hospital with the virus, including six patients in intensive care. 1322 people have recovered.

More than 176,500 Covid-19 tests have been completed with more samples still being processed as part of Victoria’s testing blitz.
