Five young men have been arrested following an armed robbery at a Hoppers Crossing convenience store early this morning.
According to police, four men, aged in their teens and early 20s, entered the Morris Road premises armed with a machete and sword just before 1.30am, while a fifth waited in a getaway car.
The men threatened staff and stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene by car.
Police arrested five males a short time later in a car on Dickson Street, Sunshine, just after 2.30am. All five remain in custody.
