Exciting news for Wyndham Vale residents this month as construction on a series of open space upgrades to Presidents Park is set to begin.

The works will create a new park road, walking paths, picnic shelters for large gatherings and more trees and landscaping for a greener, fresher park.

These upgrades will boost the park’s capacity to host events safely and smoothly as well as enhancing its appeal as a community destination.

The $1.8 million Wyndham council project is supported by a $320,000 growing suburbs fund grant.

Wyndham mayor Mia Shaw described Presidents Park as one of the municipality’s most loved and well-used open spaces.

“These upgrades will make it safer, greener and more accessible for everyone.” Regardless of how they are using the park and its facilities,” she said.

Quandong ward councillor Peter Maynard added that these works will improve access, safety and amenity for the thousands of people who use the park each year in line with the broader Presidents Park master plan.

and part of a long-term plan to assure the park meets the needs of Wyndham’s growing population.
