Residents can share feedback on Wyndham council’s proposed concept designs to make Rosslare Court Reserve, Hoppers Crossing more family friendly.
Proposed improvements include the inclusion of a new district-level play space including picnic areas, half court and ball play area with seating and shade and a new wetland to filter water before it enters Skeleton Creek.
A fenced dog off-leash area, new footpaths and seating, furniture and landscaping improvements, large open lawn area and public toilets have also been proposed.
Wyndham mayor, Peter Maynard, said the reserve was a green haven in the middle of a residential area.
“It’s a little haven tucked amid houses and Skeleton Creek – residents and the local wildlife have flocked to this space and improvements will only add to its vibrancy,” Councillor Maynard said.
Council said this is the second round of engagement, building on community feedback provided in 2021.
Adjustments include maintaining a large open lawn space for locals to enjoy, relocating the play space to provide improved ‘line of sight’ and access from Rosslare Court for safety, and enhancing the natural elements of the reserve via a new wetland.
Drop-in sessions to hear more about the concept designs will be held on site on Tuesday, December 6 at 11am-1pm and another session at 3-6pm.
Feedback closes December 11.
