Multicultural and multifaith organisations in Wyndham can now apply for grants to help strengthen their services and aid in social and economic recovery, the state government has announced.
Multicultural Affairs minister Ros Spence on Thursday, July 21, announced $2.4 million would be available through the fifth round of grants from the Priority Response to Multicultural Communities program, to support community organisations.
“We are investing in the professional development and resources of multicultural organisations as we work towards our economic recovery as a community,” Ms Ros said.
“Multicultural and multifaith organisations have been instrumental in ensuring Victorians are COVID Safe throughout the pandemic. This funding supports organisations to continue to strengthen their services for communities now and into the future.”
Groups can apply for grants of between $5,000 and $75,000 to assist in supporting professional development programs, provide job specific training and develop the skills of employees to ensure they are well equipped to adapt to changing environments throughout the pandemic.
Applications from community organisations based in regional and rural areas, as well as new and emerging community organisations, will be prioritised.
Applications are open and will close on August 16.
