Community grants for road safety

Victorian community groups, like those in Wyndham, will have the chance to receive grants of up to $30,000 to address local road safety issues.

The funding is available as part of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) Community Road Safety Grant Program.

The program provides not-for-profit groups with the opportunity to work closely with their communities to identify road safety issues and implement project-based solutions.

Previous local outcomes have included lower speed limit trials, safe cycling routes at schools, council road safety strategies, improved pedestrian crossing safety and community education programs.

Victorian roads and road safety minister Ben Carroll said everyone needed to play a part in keeping roads safe.

“Locals know their area best, so this grants program will give them the opportunity to address the road safety issues that matter most in their area and develop solutions that will boost safety on our roads and help save lives,” Mr Carroll said.

Applications for the 2022 TAC Community Road Safety Grant Program are now open and will close on May 2.
