Community gets a kick out of World Cup event

Mosques across Melbourne’s west hosted a World Cup challenge and community day at the Islamic College of Melbourne in Tarneit on Sunday, November 27.

About 150 players formed 24 teams from the Australian Islamic Centre, Virgin Mary Mosque, Maidstone Mosque, Golden Wattle Mosque and the Association of Islamic Dakwah Australia

“It was a lovely day, enjoyed by the numerous attendees and filled with positive community spirit,” Islamic College of Melbourne principal Dr Abdul Kamareddine said.

Newport Storm Football Club were crowned the 2022 champions.
