Coming from a park near you

A series of fun-filled and family-friendly events will bring music and movies to open spaces across Wyndham for the next five weeks.

The Parklife roadshow, launched by Wyndham council, will run on weekends throughout this month and April.

Saturdays will feature musical and theatrical performances from acts such as The Mik Maks, The Kazoos, The Mexican Music Man and The Bandicoots Show.

On Sundays, movies will be screened, with attendees encouraged to sing along to the film’s soundtracks.

Wyndham creative city portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud, said the council was keen to provide the community with fun and exciting events in a COVID-safe way.

“We know how much you have missed all the special events and activities that have had to be cancelled over the past year due to COVID,” Cr Mahfoud said.

“That’s why we are bringing them to a park near you.

“We hope that by taking Parklife on the road and having it in six different locations, will mean that everyone across Wyndham will get the chance to have fun and attend these wonderful events.”

Cr Mahfoud said participants could also bring a picnic or buy a treat from a food truck on-site at the events.

All the Parklife events will run from 2-4pm, with arrival from 1.30pm.

The Parklife events will take place at Arndell Playground in Truganina on March 20-21, Lollipop Hill Park in Manor Lakes on March 27-28, Upper Point Cook Playground – Rocket Park in Point Cook on April 10-11, Baden Powell Reserve in Tarneit on April 17-18 and Riverwalk Village Park in Werribee on April 24-25.
