Children interested in netball or who simply want to learn about a new sport, get active or meet their peers have been invited to attend a NetSetGO session in Wyndham this week.

NetSetGO is the national official netball starter program for girls and boys aged five to 10 years old.

The program provides youngsters with an opportunity to learn about netball basics, get outside and make some friends.

The Netball Australia program is expected to record its 600,000th young participant by the end of 2022.

NetSetGO aims to give children a positive introduction to netball, ensuring enjoyment and continued participation with the best possible learning and playing experience.

The Wyndham Netball Association has organised three NetSetGo Come & Try sessions.

The sessions will take place at Eagle Stadium, Werribee on Wednesday, February 23 from 4.30-5.30pm and also Saturday, February 26 from 1-2pm.

Comments about the NetSetGo sessions include: “I love going to netball because I love to keep running” from participant Peyton.

Julie, whose daughter Erin took part in a session said, said: “She enjoyed starting to learn the game, like the stepping rules. But it was more a test for me to see if she liked netball. I didn’t want her to play something just for my sake.”

Co-ordinator and coach Fiona said: “I love watching the kids enjoying themselves, and learning new skills.

“Seeing their development and improvement from the first to the last week of the program is why I love NetSetGo.”
