Werribee’s city centre is set to come alive with music, movies and mouth-watering food on Australia Day.

The family-friendly event will begin at 5pm on Friday, January 26, with performances including Trent Hamilton, DJ duo The Consummators, Icehouse member Michael Paynter, and INXSIVE, the INXS Tribute Show.

Wyndham’s tourism and major events portfolio holder, Cr John Gibbons, said there would be fun for residents of all ages with activities along Watton Street including face-painting, classic cars and a special Kids Zone featuring bungee trampolines and a giant 30-metre slide.

Cr Gibbons said there would also be an outdoor cinema, with a free screening of the film Paper Planes, followed by the Australian Open shown live on the big screen.

A fireworks display will be held at 9.35pm.

“Bring in the kids, grab a bite to eat at one of the many cafes and restaurants in the Werribee City Centre, check out the food trucks or pack a picnic and soak up the festival atmosphere,” Cr Gibbons said.
