Children’s Week Picnic returns

Wyndham council’s Children’s Week Picnic will return to Werribee Park in October.

Wyndham mayor Peter Maynard encouraged families to plan ahead so they don’t miss out.

“The much-loved event returns to its regular schedule this October with a new stage line-up and energetic program of interactive activities, come-and-try sports, stalls and roving entertainment to enjoy,” Councillor Maynard said.

“Children’s Week Picnic is always a great day out for families and the new program features a range of new activities, with stage highlights including the ARIA award nominated Diver City featuring musician KLP and comedian Matt Okine, along with the hilarious new kids show, Don’t Mess with the Dummies and Whistle & Trick.”

Other activies include an opportunity to see native animals up close with interactive talks by WildlifeXposure, the ability to build and decorate a cardboard space shuttle at Boxwars, and roving performances from Snuff Puppets.

“Picnics are welcome, or you can enjoy a bite to eat from one of the onsite food trucks,” Cr Maynard said.

Entry to Children’s Week Picnic is free, however a pre-booked ticket is essential.

Tickets will be available from 9am, Monday, October 3 2022.

The picnic will be held on Sunday October 23, from 10am – 4pm.
