Check out new library lounge

The colourful new Williams Landing Library Lounge is officially open for residents’ perusal.

Located at Shop1, 101 Overton Road, the lounge features a small collection of 5,000 library items to borrow, free WiFi and hearing augmentation built in.

Library activities for all ages including Rhyme Time, after school activities and and programs for adults will run at the lounge.

Wyndham deputy mayor Jasmine Hill said the new library lounge would also service residents living in Truganina, not just those in Williams Landing.

“This unique library space has been designed to provide the community with a timetable of exciting programs for all ages, as well as easy access to a brand new collection of items,” councillor Hill said.

“Residents will be able to join the library, borrow and return items and collect reservations [and] librarians will be on site and available to answer all enquiries.

“Youth Services will also run programs after 5.30pm on selected days.”

Due to the lounge’s small size, study spaces and public computers are not available at this location.

The library lounge is open between 10am-5.30pm Monday to Friday and will be closed during lunch from 12.30-1pm.

The returns chute will be open 24/7.
