Charity scavenger hunt

A charity started by a Point Cook family will host a fundraising event on Sunday, December 19.

The Move Your Boet Scavenger Hunt will be held from 11am at the Williamstown foreshore.

ByBoet was founded by Joris Steeman and Marijn Mees, and their daughters Caat and Eef, following the death of their son and brother Boet.

Boet, who was born 13 weeks premature, died on September 1, 2019, after 255 days in hospital. He was eight-and-a-half-months-old.

When Boet was born, he weighed just 689 grams and was barely the size of his favourite soft toy, a platypus.

He spent five weeks on a ventilator and was transferred to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Although Boet improved, he ended up spending another eight weeks on a ventilator and developed sepsis, before sadly passing away.

After his death, the family established ByBoet to raise funds to support research and contribute to medical equipment and other items for Neonatal Intensive Care Units.

The Move Your Boet Scavenger Hunt will raise funds for neonatal lung research.

Tickets to the event cost $25, and one ticket is valid for families and groups up to five people.

All participants will receive a small goodie bag and a sausage sizzle will be held afterwards.

Tickets must be pre- booked, Details: https://www.byboet.org/product-page/byboet-2021-move-your-boet-scavenger-hunt-ticket
