Charges laid over Truganina kidnapping

Police have charged two teenage boys after a boy was allegedly kidnapped and robbed in Truganina earlier this month.

It is alleged the victim was walking along Hollis Way when he was approached by four unknown offenders about 10.45pm on Saturday 8 November.

A 16-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted and forced into an allegedly stolen vehicle where he was forced to withdraw cash from an ATM and transfer funds electronically.

Police have said the victim was then dropped off on Edgevale Way in Tarneit and received minor injuries.

Two 17-year-old boys have both been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, robbery, theft and assault.

A boy from the Yarra area has been remanded and a boy from the Wyndham area has been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

The investigation remains ongoing.
