Centre opened after upgrade

The official opening of the $60 million redevelopment of Manor Lakes Central has been hailed a success.

Ranfurlie Asset Management opened the stage two extension of centre on May 7.

The expansion, which has doubled lettable space to about 20,000 square metres, includes a state-of-the-art Kmart, Best & Less, a new-concept Anytime Fitness gym, medical and dental practices, a large format fruit and vegetable store, as well as fresh food retailers and specialty stores.

The redevelopment generated about 300 construction jobs and is anticipated to create more than 400 on-going full and part-time retail positions.

Ranfurlie Asset Management chief executive Mark Wilson said: “The contemporary architecture, colour scheme and look and feel of the development has been wonderfully accepted by the local community and immediately embraced.

“The natural light-filled mall is a safe and inviting and pleasant place for the community to fulfill their everyday needs of goods and services.”

The centre opened in line with COVID-19 safety and social distancing restrictions, to ensure the safety of staff, customers, retailers and the community.

Under the current social distancing restrictions, there has been a delay in opening 12 stores along with some additional areas such as children’s play areas, alfresco dining spaces, a community centre and a community garden.

“Ranfurlie Assert Management look forward to welcoming those retailers and opening the community areas in the near future, once current restrictions are lifted,” a statement issued by the company said.
