Cash back initative reopens

The Eat, Play, Cash Back initiative has now opened allowing residents to save money on restaurant meals, live gigs and museum visits over spring and summer while supporting hardworking businesses in Wyndham.

Under the program, people can claim claim 25 per cent cash back when they spend $40 or more on eligible purchases, including meals at restaurants, cafes and pubs, tickets to live music or art performances, and entries into museums, galleries and amusement parks.

“This program will give many of our hardworking local hospitality and entertainment businesses a boost, while saving Victorians money,” Werribee MP Tim Pallas said.

Customers can claim up to $125 cash back through multiple claims until they reach the cap.

“This program also helps build business and consumer confidence, while supporting jobs and boosting the state’s economy,” industry support and recovery minister Ben Carroll said.

“Whether it’s booking a table for lunch, or heading to a live music event, this cash-back program puts money back into people’s pockets and supports hardworking businesses across Victoria.”

The $25 million dollar program is part of the state government’s $200 million Victorian Business Stimulus Package to support local businesses and jobs, and runs until December 16, or when funds are exhausted.

“With a blockbuster summer of major events upon us, we’re providing Victorians even more reasons to get out and enjoy everything the state has to offer – while saving money and supporting local businesses,” sport, tourism and major events minister Steve Dimopoulos said.

The first round of the program was launched in March this year and more than $32 million was claimed in three months.

“Spring is here and there is no better time to enjoy what Melbourne has to offer for less, while supporting hardworking businesses across our community,” Tarneit MP Sarah Connolly said.
