Careers expo

Residents in the North-Western suburbs, including Wyndham, are invited to attend the 2024 Melbourne Careers Expo.

For Victorians looking for a life-changing career keeping children and families safe the free event is Australia’s largest careers expo that runs from Friday, July 26, to Sunday July 28.

Minister for children, Lizzie Blandthorn said there are at least 350 opportunities to join the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing’s Child Protection team across Victoria.

The expo is calling on job seekers, students and career changers who are looking to take the opportunity to learn about uniquely rewarding and life changing child protection work.

Jobs range from entry to senior level, and provide flexibility, mentoring and strong career advancement.

If you attend the expo, you will be able to speak to Child Protection Practitioners including Tighearnan Corcoran to hear first-hand about the rewarding work they do to keep children and families together and safe.

People can also get their start in Child Protection through university partnerships and paid placement programs while they study.

The Victorian Government has invested $4 billion over the past five state budgets to strengthen the Child Protection system to keep children safe and help families most in need.

2024-25 Victorian budget which invested a further $128 million to support the child protection workforce.
