Werribee train line commuters have been advised that buses will replace trains between Newport and Werribee from 11.20pm until the last service tonight, while urgent maintenance works take place.
Trains also recently started running between Footscray and Newport again, after a faulty train near Footscray.
Major delays may be experienced as the timetable is restored.
In addition, services on all metropolitan train lines are experiencing significant delays and suspensions due to extreme weather across Melbourne.
V/Line trains have also been disrupted due to extreme weather.
Due to limited bus availability, passengers are advised to defer travel plans or seek alternative transport options.
