Bulban Road works

Wyndham council has awarded a $6.73 million contract for the reconstruction of Bulban Road, between Ballan Road and McGrath Road in Werribee.

According to a council report, the works were needed because the “trafficability of the road” had been impacted in recent years by increasing traffic volumes from the rapidly-developing Wyndham West area, which includes Werribee, Wyndham Vale and Manor Lakes.

The council has appointed Negri Contractors to carry out the Bulban Road project, which will include widening the road, additional bicycle paths, pedestrian crossings, bus stop infrastructure, new pavements, underground stormwater drainage and associated landscape works.

The council report stated construction would begin on November 24, with an estimated finishing date of August 10 next year.

The report also stated that some delays would be expected during construction, along with “minor environmental implications such as noise/dust pollution”.

“Roadworks Coming Soon” signs are expected to be placed on site this week and there will be a letter drop to surrounding residents and businesses. The contractor will also organise a meeting with Public Transport Victoria to plan detours of part of bus route 192 during the works, as well as the relocation of bus stops.
