Maidstone mural artist Ema Gardner is looking forward to sharing her skills with young people across the west, as part of a new Youth Projects pilot workshop.
Hosted at the Youth Projects’ Werribee hub, the workshop will be held from 10am to 2pm on Friday, December 16.
The independent not-for-profit organisation has recently launched hubs in Footscray, Werribee, Point Cook, St Albans, Sunshine, Taylors Lakes, Altona Meadows, Watergardens and Hoppers Crossing.
Ms Gardner said the workshop will teach young people how to use spray paint to create beautiful art.
“I feel this sort of thing helps to clear the mind,” she said.
“It can be a huge help.”
Ms Gardner said she discovered the benefits of art and painting murals later in life.
“I found it to be a terrific way to relieve stress,” she said.
Ms Gardner said the goal of the workshop is to provide young aspiring artists with mentorship and guidance, with the hope to expand it beyond the pilot program.
Also known as ADORE, Ms Gardner is an artist creating custom artwork and large-scale murals, for individuals, local businesses, and international corporations including DB Breweries, Adidas and IBM since 2016.
