Commuters travelling between Melton and Wyndham will have a smoother drive with the upgrade of the Boundary Rd and Davis Rd intersection now complete.
The $1 million upgrade to the intersection in Mt Cottrell was jointly funded by Melton and Wyndham council’s and includes resurfacing, pavement widening, new signage and improved drainage and line markings.
Wyndham mayor Susan McIntyre said the upgrades were needed for such a fast growing area.
“As more housing estates pop up in the surrounding area, it’s vital that this busy intersection is safe for all road users,” she said.
“These works provide enhanced intersection safety and an overall smoother drive in line with Wyndham City’s Road Safety Strategy 2022-2032, which envisions that everyone who travels on our roads and paths will arrive safely at their destination.”
Cr McIntyre thanked Melton council for delivering the works as part of a wider upgrade to Troups Road South.
Troups Road South will remain closed while Melton council completes the remainder of those works.
