Children across Wyndham are dressing up as their favourite literary characters for Book Week.

Even though many youngsters are learning from home- which means their traditional school activities such as costume parades have been postponed or cancelled – some families are still getting into the spirit of Book Week, which will run until Friday.

This year is the 75th anniversary of the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s annual Book Week, which began in 1946.

Manor Lakes mother Xiomara Dela Torre said her sons Jeicob, six, and Jaydon, 11, will be donning costumes for Book Week.

“Jeicob is starting to read and get into books, he likes Cat in the Hat,” she said.

Jaydon, who enjoys books by author David Williams, will dress up as his Billionaire Boy character.
