The Werribee Hospital Foundation is calling for donations of high-quality, pre-loved books.

The foundation will host a book sale next month to raise money to put towards the purchase of a new palliative bed for Werribee Mercy Hospital.

Books on all topics and genres are welcome to be donated, including fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, DIY, self-help, memoirs and history.

Foundation volunteers Cheryl and Kathleen are organising the book sale for August 28 and 29.

The foundation’s chief executive Leanne Down said residents who purchased books from the sale would be helping to raise $12,000 for a new palliative bed at Werribee Mercy.

“One hundred per cent of sales from this bookstall will go towards this purchase,” Ms Down said.

“We are so grateful to our volunteers that enable us to reach these outcomes”.

Book sales held in aid of the foundation’s work have raised more than $6000 for Werribee Mercy across the years.

If you have books collecting dust and taking up space that you would like to donate for the sale, contact the foundation at hello@whf.org.au
