Wyndham Warriors BMX team has just returned from the Victorian Open State Championships, and nine of its riders placed against hundreds from across the state.
Mandie Morgan was first in the 30-34 women cruiser category, Gary Morgan first in the 50+ men, and Sienna Richmond in the 9 girls. Other members to place well include Mitchell Ord, Ava Lazaridis, Max Lees, James Tucker, Saskia Wardlaw and Justin Miller.
Sienna and Ava have also scored themselves a spot on the Victorian team.
Ms Morgan said, for the first time in two decades, the club will host the state championships at its Hoppers Crossing track next year.
The track is undergoing a makeover, with new tarmac to give it bitumen corners, bringing it up to Union Cycliste Internationale standards. Details: www.wwbmxclub.com.au
