Bauch hearing adjourned

A mention hearing for a candidate in the 2016 Wyndham council election, Joh Bauch has been adjourned until next month.

The Local Government Inspectorate last year charged Bauch with two counts of making a false document and two of using a false document contrary to sections 83A(1) and 83A(2) of the Crimes Act 1958.

The charges relate to allegations that on September 21, 2016,  Bauch submitted a candidate statement lodgement form and candidate questionnaire lodgement form in the name of another candidate to the Victorian Electoral Commission without their knowledge or consent.

Bauch attended the Werribee Magistrates Court this morning, where magistrate Urfa Masood  adjourned the case until March 6, at the request of  Bauch’s lawyers.
