The Werribee South Country Women’s Association (CWA) hopes their annual garage sale will help them to help those in need.
Bric a brac, toys, kitchen supplies and plants will be available for purchase this Saturday, March 19.
“Everything is donated,” CWA Werribee South President Julia Toffolon said.
“We have handcrafted items like knitting and sewing and we have lots of plants.”
The women will then decide what organisation to allocate a portion of their earnings to, like they have in previous years.
“Because of COVID, we weren’t able to contribute much last year but we did donate to Foodbank.”
The women of the association pride themselves on their desire to help others and Ms Toffolon believes the greatest benefit the CWA offers is companionship.
“The CWA is about elevating the lives of marginalised women and children, we do well to support each other in good times and bad times and we’re to celebrate with you and help you when you fall.”
“You can do so much more when you’re with others, on my own I can do little but with a group you feel like you can do so much more.”
By joining the CWA, Ms Toffolon said you form bonds with people who have a similar desire to help others.
“We don’t care what you can do, everyone can do something. We all pitch in, everyone has something to offer and we’re always looking for new members.” Ms Toffolon said.
The garage sale will be held at 19 Chandler Street, Werribee South
