The Werribee Bowls Club is on a roll when it comes to getting people of all ages and abilities involved in the sport.

The club is running a program called Bowling with Babies, for new and expectant mothers of all skill levels.

The Bowls Victoria initiative was designed to provide mums with a chance to meet other parents, have a coffee and enjoy a gentle game of bowls in a non-competitive environment.

The Bowling with Babies sessions will run on Friday, February 23 and March 2, 9 and 16, from 10.30am to noon. Each session will cost $15, including a coffee and light lunch.

The Werribee Bowls Club is also running a free Girls on the Green initiative, funded by Wyndham council. The program aims to get “girls” of all ages onto the green to learn a new activity, have fun and make friends.

The Girls on the Green sessions will be held on Sunday, February 25 and March 15 from 12.30 to 2pm, and Thursday, February 22 and March 1, 8 and 15 from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Bare feet or flat-soled shoes are essential, and bookings are required.
