Pupils at Stella Maris Catholic Primary School in Point Cook have created artworks promoting connection and community regeneration at both a local and global level.

The school recently hosted a Pop Up Art Festival in which the artworks were displayed at shops and businesses in the area, to help support them in aftermath of the COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns.

Stella Marris provided school families with a map to visit the artworks, which were accompanied by QR codes that connected to a website showcasing each pupil’s learning and the stories behind the art.

School principal Steve Harris said the school also sold the children’s art to raise funds for charity.

“The power of art has given all our students the chance to create, to collaborate and to develop relationships, to build social and emotional understandings,” he said.
