Wyndham council is informing residents not to be alarmed if Australian Army personnel, vehicles and helicopters are sighted in the municipality.
The Department of Defence will operate training exercises from August 15 to September 9 in greater Melbourne and regional Victoria, including in Wyndham.
Flying operations in the day and night that involve responses to simulated terrorism scenarios can be expected, and residents should not be concerned if they hear or see military helicopters, vehicles or military personnel holding weapons.
Council said no ammunition will be used during the training
