Police are appealing for witnesses to assist with their investigation into a Point Cook stabbing which resulted in a teenager requiring surgery, last week.

Emergency services were called to reports a male had been stabbed during an altercation with another man at the intersection of Murnong and Main streets around 6pm on November 1.

The victim, a 19-year-old man, received stab wounds to his upper and lower body which required surgery.

The alleged offender left the scene in a White Volkswagen Golf bearing stolen front and rear plates.
